In late 2019, Starlight launched its UK build-to-rent strategy, targeting forward-purchase opportunities in high-growth commuter belt locations and major UK cities.

RENU were engaged in mid-2021 to support this market entry, advising on all technical aspects of UK delivery. Our scope included establishing a local consultant framework, aligning UK/Canadian investment and acquisition processes, producing a standardised design guide and specification, and leading technical due diligence on potential acquisitions.

This partnership culminated in Starlight securing its first UK BTR forward purchase deal in Ashford, Kent, in collaboration with Kings Crescent Homes.
